The Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG)

The German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) came into effect on January 1, 2023. It initially applies to companies and branches based in Germany with at least 3,000 employees, and from January 1, 2024, also to those with at least 1,000 employees.

The purpose of the Act is to hold companies accountable for violations of human rights and environmental obligations within their global value chains. It establishes a legal framework aimed at improving international human rights standards and promoting responsible corporate governance.
