In December 2025, the Scientific Society for Management and Consulting (WGMB) named us a Hidden Champion with the highest consulting quality for the third time in a row. The “Hidden Champion” award has been presented nationwide since 2003 and is the oldest seal of quality for consulting companies in Germany. It is not possible to apply for the award. The preliminary selection is made exclusively on the basis of recommendations by an independent panel of experts from academia and practice – and on the basis of empirical preliminary studies conducted by the WGMB. The WGMB then determines the Hidden Champions – highly specialized consulting firms that are less familiar to the general public – by conducting a structured, detailed survey of around 1,000 executives from large and medium-sized companies. What they all have in common is that their clients rate their expertise in their field higher than that of the three large consulting firms McKinsey, BCG, and Bain.
The consulting discipline of sustainability encompasses consulting on sustainability strategy, sustainability management, climate strategy, climate reporting, and climate risks. We once again ranked first in this discipline, ahead of consulting firms Oliver Wyman, Boston Consulting Group, Accenture, and Deloitte. In the latest survey, our clients particularly highlighted our innovative thought leadership, our teamwork and communication skills, especially at the specialist and management levels, and our broad expertise in sustainability issues. In June 2024, we received the Top Consultant Award for the third consecutive time at the German SME Summit organised by compamedia GmbH and WGMB. This prestigious award, which recognises excellence in consulting for medium-sized companies, was presented for the 15th time.
For the Top Consultant award, the Bonn-based Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Management und Beratung (WGMB) examines German consulting firms annually. The study's main criterion is a survey of medium-sized companies that have previously worked with the participating management consultancies. They comment on various aspects, including the professionalism of the consultants, their satisfaction with the consulting services, and whether they would recommend the consultancy to others. Having met the high criteria for the second consecutive year, we are still recognised as one of the best SME consultancies in Germany.
